Y132: Gentle Yoga For Back Strength & Twists + How To Avoid Overstretching Injuries
Aug 19, 2020The new Yoga For Beginners online course is available now at http://www.quietmind.yoga - this is made for total beginners but full of insights including things that took me 8 years of practicing to learn, so this is great for all levels to brush up on the fundamentals. It includes daily practices in the styles I teach on this podcast. All recorded for you to watch anytime on any device. All on video!
Today's class addresses one of the most important things I teach - how to develop both strength and flexibility in your practice to prevent imbalances. I had the common misconception for years that if I did strength training my muscles would get shorter and less flexible - I now know that is 100% not true! I'll share more about why in the intro, and how to apply this in the practice.
This is a great, well rounded practice that is both gentle and strength building - not the most common combination!
Props recommended: 2 blocks, bolster, blanket, wall space
